Do I need cruise insurance? What are the cancellation policies? What is the difference between "Early' dining and "Late" dining? We aspire to provide you with a worry-free cruise vacation, but unforeseen disruptions like cancellations, interruptions, delays and lost luggage do occur, and we want you to be protected. Cancellations are subject to the cancellation policies of both CruiseVacations.net and the cruise line you are sailing with. Details are included on the 'Summary' page during the booking process. What is the difference between "Early' dining and "Late" dining? Typically, most large cruise ships offer two dinner times. Early or "Main" dining occurs at 6:30, while late dining occurs at 8:30. On smaller ships, you'll usually have only one dining time. How do I ensure that my special dietary requests or other needs are met? The names that you enter to reserve your cruise must exactly match those that appear on the document(s) that you will use as proof of citizenship. If you are unsure of how your name or your traveling companion's names appear on these documents, verify this information prior to reserving your cruise. Be advised that the cruise lines, as well as airlines, often impose fees to correct the names of their passengers. By the time I sail, I will be married. Should I book a cruise under my married name or my maiden name? If you plan to carry proof of citizenship that reflects your maiden name, reserve your cruise in your maiden name. If you plan to carry proof of citizenship that reflects your married name, reserve your cruise in your married name. Please note that if you are carrying several types of identification reflecting two different names, you should carry a copy of your marriage certificate to document your name change. You will not be able to board the ship without proper documentation. Can I book a cruise with a debit card? Yes, but be aware that your bank may impose a daily charge limitation. Contact your bank and inquire about any such limitation and request an increase if necessary. When will my credit card(s) be charged? Charges usually occur on the same business day, but they may occasionally take up to three business days to be processed. How will I know if the payment is not accepted? You will be contacted if there are any complications with your credit card transaction. If a make a deposit, how do I know when my final payment is due? Final payment is due up to 90 days prior to sailing depending on the length of cruise, the cruise line and the number of days before departure. Final payment will automatically be charged to the credit card used for the deposit unless you make other arrangements. To make other final payment arrangements, call us at 1-800-298-8688. I received an error stating that my credit card payment could not be processed. Now what do I do? If you have submitted your credit card information, do not attempt to enter it again. Instead, contact us at 1-800-298-8688. We will be happy to assist in finalizing the process. If you have not yet submitted your credit card information, your reservation is not complete. These inclusions cannot currently be booked online. Contact the Travel Department at 1-800-298-8688 to make reservations. Can I book multiple cabins online? Yes, but only one cabin can be booked at a time. Simply complete the booking process twice to reserve a second cabin. If you prefer not to complete this process twice, call us at 1-800-298-8688 and we will be happy to assist you. If you are traveling with a group that needs five or more cabins, call us at 1-800-298-8688 and we will be happy to assist you. How will I know that my cruise purchase was confirmed? Within 24 hours, you will receive a confirmation email notifying you that the booking completed. What are government fees? These are taxes and fees levied by the government and other agencies. They are included in your cruise fare. What are port charges? These are costs incurred by ships for entering, leaving and residing in port. They are charged in addition to the stated cruise fare. What does a category guarantee mean? A category guarantee means you have purchased a cabin category, but a specific cabin has not been assigned. Sometimes the cabin number is provided in advance, sometimes it is provided at the pier. Your cabin number falls anywhere within the category you purchased, so there is the possibility, but not a guarantee, of an upgrade. Can I add another person to a cabin? Yes, but it's best to book everyone traveling together at the same time. It is possible to add an extra person, providing there is availability of a cabin that sleeps more than two passengers. Keep in mind that the additional person usually pays a different rate. Your present rate will not be protected and could possibly change if someone is added after the initial booking. Change fees may be incurred as well. If there is no availability, changes will not be permitted. To add a person to a cruise, call us at 1-800-298-8688 and we will be happy to assist you. |
